It Took Earth Ten Million Years to Recover from Greatest Mass Extinction

Life was almost wiped out 250 million years ago.Only 10% of plant and animals survived.The recovery from the crisis lasted about 10 million years.There are 2 reasons for the delay of the sheer intensity of the crisis, and countering grim conditions on earth after the first wave of extinction.The Permian crisist was the most damaging crisis for earth.It was triggered by a number of physical environment shocks(global warning,acid rains.ocean acid diffication and ocean anoxia).There was enough to kill 90% of living thing on land and in the sea.It must be really hard to imagine how much life could been killed.Rocks found in China and all over the world prove that this was the biggest crisis ever faced by life.Current research shows that the grim conditions counted in bursts for sune 5-6 million years after the initial crisis, repeated carbon and oxygen crisis,warming and other effects.Some groups of animals on land or sea did recover.They quickly started recovering and rebuilding their ecosystem,but they did suffer further setbacks.Life for them didn't recover in these early phases because permanent ecosystems weren't established yet.As life was getting back to normal than an other crisis hi and the it back,again.The carbon crisis hit many times.Then finally conditions became normal again after 5 million years,more or less.After that more complex ecosystems emerged.Those creatures formed as the basis of future modern style ecosystems.The crisis' that happened of corse weren't good.But the thins that were happening then seem to be happening to us today.We could learn something from what happened and try to prevent it.So that the same thing doesn't happen today for us.

Where are waves the highest and the lowest? 

I thing the highest waves happen in the Pacific Ocean,because its the biggest ocean.

 What do you think makes them so high?

  Make sure that you note the date you accessed the link.  What types of buoys were they?  What atmospheric pressure or wind speed was at that location?  What causes waves to become so high or low?  Why might these buoys be helpful to meteorologists, cities on the coast (seaside), boatsmen, you...?  

Making Waves Lab

In class we made waves on the laptop and in real life.Making waves on the laptop made me understand better what happens with the waves when the frequency and the amplitude increases.When making waves on the laptop you could rotate the screen and see whats happening on the side which was really helpful and also something i couldn't do when i made it in reality.

We did all sorts of activities with waves.

First we did observations with crock.We had to make drops from the pipe in the middle,corner;with two pipes in the middle,corner,one end;with paper towels,one stick of clay in the center,clay in a different position,two stick of clay end to end,different position, and two and a half stick of clay.

Second, we did the same things but with cork.

The good thins about the reality lab we did is that you could see better from a birds eye view.You could see how almost every time the waves bounced back from the plastic.

When you have more amplitude the drop is heavier so it makes more waves.i thing when you have more frequency that the drop is a little lighter and it doesn't make really high waves but they last longer.

New Mechanism of Past Global Warming? Thawing Permafrost 50 Million Years Ago Led to Global Warming Events

New studies were reported in nature.Climate scientists proposed a new necluanism that can explain the source of carbon that fed a series of extreme warning evens 55 million years ago.Plus a couple of other similar,smaller warning events after that.
The standard hypothesis has been that the source of carbon was in the ocean.In a from of froze methane gas in the ocean floor sediments.
Instead of that,the scientists are aseribing  the carbon source the the continents.In polar latitudes where permafrost can store massive amounts of carbon that can be realizes as CO2 when the permafrost thaws.
This is supported by calculations estimating interactions of variables like greenhouse gas levels,changes in Earth's tilt and orbit,ancient distributions of vegetation's and Gabon stored in rock and in frozen soil.
While the amounts of carbon involved in the ancient soil and how scenarios was much grater than today.Implications of the study appear dire for the long term future as poor permafrost carbon deposited have begun to thaw due to burning fossil-flues.
Similar things are happening today.Global warming is degrading permafrost in the north polar regions, thawing of frozen organic matter.Which will decay to realization man-thane the atmosphere.This will exaprate future warming in a positive feedback loop.
The Earth's atmospheric temperature is a result of energy input from the sun,minus what escapes back to space.
Save the Earth.Because while saving it we are saving our self's.

Galaxy Formation + Evolution

Formation of galaxy is still one of the most active research areas in astrophysics and this is also true for galaxy.Some ideas are still not widely accepted.Most accepted view today is that all structures we observe today was formed as a consequence of the growth of primary fluctuations.
Primary fluctuations causes gas to be attracted to areas of denser material,and star clusters and stars.
Consequence of this model is that the location of galaxies indicates areas of higher density of the early universe.Even the distribution of galaxies is closely related to the physics of the early universe.
This topic is really interesting and i really do want to know what there is in the galaxy.

Discovery of Brain's Natural Resistance to Drugs May Offer Clues to Treating Addiction

An injection of cocaion or any other type of drugs causes mice to stop the neurons that generate sensations of plesure.These cellular changes last for a week.Findings suggest this powerful reaction to the drug may be a protective anti-addiction response.Scientists theories that its possible to mimic this responses to treat this addiction to this drug and perhaps other bu t they need to research more and do more experiments.Scientists were amazed that one exposure to these drugs could promote a really strong response that lasts a week even after the drug leaves the body.They believe that this could be the brains immediate response to reverse simulation to these drugs.

So technically when the brain knows that drug entered the body the brain tries to fight it or defend its self.

But the scientists are still trying to understand better the brains response to drugs.Why?They're hoping to find a way to prevent it and tread addiction.Also they're doing this because a lot of people died because of drugs.In 2009 more than 37,000 people died because of drug abuse.

Scientists are researching cellular changes to the brain that occur while taking drugs.

Heres what happens after using drugs for a couple of years.

While i was living in Novi Sad at night sometimes even during the day drug dealers and drug addicts would try to get in.One day when my dad was coming back home from work he saw a syringe  and while he was getting into and out of the lift there was blood on the walls,floor,everywhere.

I think that this what scientist are doing is really important and good fro the society.Drugs don't make you feel good or better they just help you die quicker.

For all we know some of our friends even family could be addicted.We are not aware how much people are on drugs and we probably don't even know how much this project will help.
